Volunteering here and working with our patients is hard work but it’s wonderfully rewarding. The opportunity to help care for a wild animal, giving it a second chance at life, is something you’ll remember forever. Join the Wildlife In Need Center for HALLO-WINC Saturday, October 21th from 2pm-4pm Wildlife In Need Center, Oconomowoc Join us for Hallo-WINC, a scare-free family fun Halloween event on Saturday, October 21st  from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Wildlife In Need Center. Take a walk through the Hallo-WINC woods and meet some of our educational animal ambassadors up-close and learn fun facts about Wisconsin wildlife. Enjoy a scavenger hunt, kid’s games, and face painting.  Shop our gift shop with unique wildlife themed items! Summer Meet and Greet and Rare Behind-the-Scenes Tours!

Join us for our Summer Meet and Greet! Saturday, July 15th, 2023 Wildlife In Need Center 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Drop-In Event Join us for a Summer wildlife meet & greet event – have the opportunity to see most of our live educational ambassadors up-close and personal.  You can learn their stories and how they became ambassadors, along with fun facts about their species here in Wisconsin. There will be a Chocolate Factory sundae bar! There will be games for the children! Wildlife animal ambassadors you will be able to view and meet: Lenny and Leucius, Virginia Opossum Chase, Striped Skunk Willow, Woodchuck can be seen inside her enclosure Evie, Western Fox Snake Meadow, Bullsnake Jewel, Ornate Box Turtle (Endangered Species) See all of our educational animal ambassadors on our website here. Check out our gift shop! Items include; New WINC wear supporting 25th anniversary, other WINC gear (t-shirts and sweatshirts),  wildlife books and references, jewelry, and so much more! Youth and adult spring and summer Baby Bird Feeding program

Join Our Baby Bird Feeding Volunteer Team! We are so excited to offer our popular youth volunteer opportunity this spring and summer 2023! Adult Baby Bird Feeders are welcome too! We receive hundreds of hungry orphaned baby birds from May to September that need lots of quality care. If you are at least 15, you can help provide the attention and care that each bird needs to return it to the wild. If you are 12 to 14, you can team up with an adult to help us with our baby birds. Whoo Love’s Wildlife Meet and Greet! February 11 from 10am-12pm

This year we are bringing back one of our dearly missed events: Whooo Loves Wildlife! Our Valentine’s Day meet and greet has been on hiatus since the pandemic but this year we are happy to announce that it’s back! Visit us here at the Wildlife in Need Center for an opportunity to meet our education ambassadors, play games, take photos, check out our gift shop, and pick up some treats from our bake sale. The festivities begin at 10:00 am and go to 12:00 noon on February 11th. This will be Lenny and Leucius’ first meet and greet and they’re both excited to meet new friends! This event has a suggested donation of $2 per person. Here is our tentative schedule: 10am-12pm Jewel, the Ornate Box Turtle Antionette, the Western Painted Turtle Evie, the Eastern Fox Snake Meadow, the Bullsnake 10am-11am Lenny, the Virginia Opossum 11am-12pm Leucius, the Virginia Opossum 10:30am-11:30pm, Chase the Striped Skunk Willow may appear in her window, with her trainer, time TBD. The Wildlife In Need Center (WINC), is excited to share that we have reopened and are once again accepting wildlife patients. Just in time for the spring and summer babies that have arrived. It has been a long and bumpy road over the past 18 months and we are thrilled to be back with a full staff and volunteers here at the Center.
